Soarce

Founded in 2021 by materials scientists Derek Saltzman and Mason Mincey, University of Central Florida alumni, Soarce has developed a proprietary process to extract nanocellulose from brown seaweed, creating a multifunctional bio-material that is stronger than steel yet lightweight, biodegradable, flame-resistant and antimicrobial. The company is targeting performance apparel brands first, with a roadmap into coatings and industrial treatments.

Soarce has raised over $1.5M to date, including a National Science Foundation research grant and early-stage backing from LEAD and the Tavistock Group.
