Otonomi provides parametric cargo insurance for global trade, using automated tracking and AI-driven risk models to detect shipping delays and disruptions and trigger payouts automatically — without the loss adjusters and paperwork of traditional indemnity-based cargo insurance. Its platform combines data analytics, smart contracts and digital payments to price and underwrite delay and temperature-excursion risk in real time across ocean, air and ground freight, drawing on inputs such as weather, port congestion and carrier performance.
Founded in 2021 by Yann Barbarroux and Jeremy Sutton and based in New York, Otonomi raised $3.4M in 2022 led by ATX Ventures, followed by an oversubscribed $5M Series A in October 2025 led by Hivemind Capital, Rothschild & Co Asset Management and ATX Venture Partners, to fund its expansion across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
