Elateq

Co-founded by Chief Science Officer Ljiljana Rajic, Elateq has commercialised a patented electrochemical water-treatment technology that uses innovations in carbon electrochemistry to remove heavy metals, nutrients, pathogens and toxic man-made chemicals, including PFAS 'forever chemicals', from wastewater within a single treatment unit and without added chemicals. Unlike competing electrochemical systems that typically target one contaminant class at a time, Elateq's technology is designed to treat multiple contaminants simultaneously.

The company is supported by the Activate research-to-startup fellowship and the Blue Action Accelerator, alongside state and federal grant funding, as it scales up its PFAS-destruction technology.
