Dolphin Labs

Spun out of Cal Wave Power Technologies and based in Oakland, California, Dolphin Labs manufactures the xNode, a resilient wave energy converter that harnesses ocean wave motion to deliver persistent, off-grid power, between 100 watts and 1 kilowatt, for ocean-observing sensors, autonomous underwater vehicles and communications equipment in remote marine environments.

Founded in 2022, the company has secured $2.3M in government grant funding to test a scaled xNode at wave-tank facilities and raised $150,000 in seed investment, and was selected for NATO's DIANA defense-innovation accelerator and the Blue Action Accelerator to support its growth into commercial and defense markets.
