Founded in 2022 and based in Brooklyn, Vycarb has developed a real-time, autonomous carbon removal process that converts dissolved CO2 in natural waters into stable bicarbonate using ocean alkalinity enhancement chemistry, permanently sequestering carbon for over 10,000 years while de-acidifying the local aquatic environment.
The company combines a novel chemical reactor with direct sensing to make every tonne removed measurable and verifiable for carbon credit markets, and has deployed its technology commercially since 2023 with customers including Klarna, Frontier and Stripe.
