Founded in London in 2022 by Dr Phillip Marks and Amos Wittenberg, Unwritten (formerly Dovetail Finance) helps investors, lenders and companies price the physical and transition risk of climate change at the individual company level, turning climate science into financial analysis that can be built into investment and lending decisions. The platform is used by institutional investors and financial institutions to incorporate climate impact directly into portfolio analysis rather than relying on broad sector-level scores.
Unwritten raised a $3.5M seed round in 2024, backed by Connect Ventures and Planet A Ventures, on top of an earlier £750k pre-seed, taking total funding to around $4.75M.
