The Company

Spun out of the Bio-Integrated Design Lab at UCL by co-founders Dr Prantar Tamuli, Dr Steven Craig Roberts and Andrew John Gray, Tattva has built a solid-state photosynthetic biomanufacturing platform that grows a carbon-negative biomaterial from cyanobacteria in as little as 10 days. The resulting material, Stromate, combines the strength of brick, the insulation of polystyrene foam and the light-transmitting qualities of glass, while actively removing carbon from the atmosphere as it grows, offering a lower-carbon alternative to extractive construction materials.

Tattva has secured a £650K Innovate UK grant, one of the largest in the biomaterials sector, alongside £215K in private investment.
