Founded in London in 2016 by physicist Kamil Tamiola, Peptone is a first-in-class translational biophysics company developing small-molecule therapeutics that target intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) — a class of proteins implicated in cancer, neurodegeneration and other hard-to-treat diseases that traditional structure-based drug discovery cannot address. The company combines experimental biophysics, high-performance computing and machine learning to model and drug these previously 'undruggable' targets.
Backed in its seed round by Founders Factory, Hoxton Ventures and Novartis's venture arm dRx Capital, Peptone went on to raise a $40M Series A in 2022 led by F-Prime Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners to advance its pipeline toward the clinic.
