Nitronic

Established in 2022 in Fremantle, Western Australia, Nitronic is developing a non-thermal plasma process that combines carbon dioxide and nitrogen at room temperature and pressure to produce ammonium carbonate, the precursor to urea, in small, affordable on-site units. The approach is designed to cut the carbon footprint and centralisation of conventional nitrogen fertiliser production, which today relies on the energy-intensive Haber-Bosch process.

Nitronic has been seeking early strategic and pre-seed investment from partners with connections across the fertiliser and chemical manufacturing sector to help commercialise the technology.
