Honest Health was founded in 2018 by Sam Gluck and Pavlo Maherovsky, who met while studying for their MBAs at London Business School. The company built Freshman, a direct-to-consumer virtual clinic that gave men in the UK fast, discreet access to hair-loss treatment, combining online consultations with an exclusive partnership with the UK's first compounding pharmacy.
Backed by Founders Factory, VGC Partners and Fagron, Honest Health scaled quickly by focusing on an underserved corner of men's health that had traditionally been slow, expensive and awkward for patients to access. Less than three years after launch, the company was acquired by US telehealth group Hims & Hers in 2021 for a reported $20.5M, giving Hims & Hers its first foothold in the UK and Western Europe.
