Founded in Bari in 2020 by Robin Daina, Connexa operates as AutoConnexa, an innovative InsurTech MGA that uses IoT telematics and AI to personalise motor insurance based on real driving behaviour. Its flagship Drive Connexa product, developed with insurer ITAS Mutua, combines usage-based pricing with generative AI, and the company has since expanded distribution through a partnership with comparison site Segugio.it.
AutoConnexa raised an initial €2.3M seed round from CDP Equity in 2020 and has gone on to raise a total of roughly €4.4M-4.76M, backed by investors including Mediobanca, CDP Venture Capital and Loyal VC. Its technology won the Excellence in Service Innovation AI award at the 2024 Italian Insurtech Summit.
